How to know chargeable weight

To determine the shipping cost, we must first figure out the chargeable weight. Dimensional weight (DIM) is calculated using a formula widely used in the air cargo industry. To compare the actual weight with the DIM weight, the greater value will be determined as the chargeable weight. Please learn more in detail in the following steps.

Step 1,

Messure actual weight

Use a weight scale to messure your shipment weight, and record it in kilograms (kg)

forexample:   6.3 (kg)

Step 2,

Calculate DIM weight

1st: Calculate cubic size by multiplying length by width by height of each package.

forexample:   45(cm) x 30(cm) x 30(cm)=40,500

2nd: Divide the cubic size by 5000 (DIM factor, it is used for air cargo), The result is the dimensional weight of your package

40,500/5000=8.1 (kg: DIM weight)

Step 3,

Compare actual weight and DIM weight

Compare this DIM weight with the actual weight of your package.

Charges will be based on the greater of the two: total actual weight versus total DIM weight.

Actial w/t 6.3 (kg) < DIM w/t 8.1 (kg)

The Final Charge will be based on 8.1 kg .

It also know as Chargeable weight.
